WHY AM I WRITING THIS?

Stop believing that healthcare costs should or will inevitably rise.

This is a website created to explain in simple terms why U.S. healthcare is so expensive, how it is wrecking the lives of millions of Americans, and how we can actually demand that it change. I am a surgeon who has been privy for some time to the absurd pricing found in hospital outpatient care and to the insurance industry’s seemingly inexplicable appetite for it. I have had countless people in and out of the healthcare industry implore essays conclusion conflict me to share these “secrets” with the public. I have been told many times, “People need to know this.” This is my first adventure into social media for much of anything. I apologize for pulling you onto my site. There is nothing here for sale. The videos are pretty cool if nothing else.

HOW TO TAKE BACK

AMERICAS WORKING

STOP BELIEVING THAT HEALTHCARE COSTS

SHOULD OR WILL INEVITABLY RISE.

REALIZE OUR PREMIUMS ARE ABOUT 30-50%

TOO HIGH AND ARE ONCE AGAIN GOING UP.

Once again your raise for your hard work is going to the insurance companies and their partners in cost escalation.

THIS NBC NEWS VIDEO WILL SHOW YOU HOW PATIENTS IN NH ARE TRADING COPAYS FOR PAYOFF.

ABOUT THIS VIDEO

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND

This video is remarkable because it gives a glimpse of the waste that shapes the size of our premiums. It also shows how it’s possible to get some of it back.

Amazing? “So the insurance company was
willingly overpaying the hospital $35,500
every month for one patient for years for
one type of infusion?”

“WHY WOULDN’T THE
INSURANCE COMPANY
WANT TO SAVE MONEY?”

For 3 pretty simple very important reasons.

HIGHER
PREMIUMS

= PROFITS

WHO’S PIGGY BANK IS THAT GOING IN?

Insurance companies can only make more money (for bonuses for example) if premiums rise since they are tied to a maximal percentage for profit and operating costs.
If the cost of care drops, so does their ability to raise premiums.

SWITCH AND BAIT

CHECK YOUR INVOICE

Almost all outpatient medicine has been corralled into the hospitals where extra facility fees can be charged. Many hospitals are tax-exempt and have been buying up land and private practices. This results in a monopoly of care called a “preferred network” with facility fees now tied to almost everything done.

LET’S MAKE A DEAL

TOP SECRET

Both parties have been negotiating UP the overall cost of care in complete secrecy for nearly 20 years until 2015 when transparency of hospital billing was finally mandated. This is why such inexpensive treatments, for instance a $4,000 Remicade infusion became “worth” $40,000 to both hospitals and insurance companies as in the NBC Nightly News video above.

WAIT A SECOND

“MY INSURANCE
COMPANY NEGOTIATES
FOR THE BEST PRICE,
THEY TELL ME.”

Insurance companies have negotiated down the private physician service rates which has forced physicians into hospital employment. Now physicians are paid salaries out of the skyrocketed facility fees that only the hospitals can charge.

In fact, hospitals can even bill Medicare for facility fees for simple office visits and consultations. This effectively DOUBLED the cost of office visits across the country.

ABOUT THIS VIDEO

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND

The American public has been chased down and had it’s pockets picked by a system as vile as what’s in this video.

WARNING: This video contains many snakes, but does have a happy ending.

It’s time to stop running. Your premiums ARE your raises and they are being TAKEN from you. Understand and fight back below.

CONSIDER THIS

“OUR RUNAWAY TRAIN”

IT’S DRIVING AWAY OUR JOBS

The very idea of renegotiating health insurance every year as if there are variations in our mortality makes no more sense than needing to renegotiate our car insurance or homeowners insurance every year. This bandit train running on the insurance and hospital rails passes by each year, collects the publics’ would-be raises, and hamstrings the US employers’ ability to control costs enough to keep jobs on this side of our boarder. So, ironically, our jobs are actually heading to where those snakes live.

HOPELESS ?

NOT ANY MORE?

TRANSPARENCY

Now, since transparency, we can see the train for what it really is and we know it’s going to come around next year about this time.
Without transparency, we would all still be fighting in the dark, and I would not be writing this now.

SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

SUPPORT / ENACT

“RIGHT TO SHOP”
LEGISLATION IN YOUR STATE.

This makes it a right to enjoy up to 50% of the savings when you choose an independent facility when doing anything that does not require hospital admission. This will allow for Apps like Vitals Smart Shopper to function, for costs of outpatients medicine (60% of all medical costs) to plummet, and for hospital acquired “super bug” infections to stop spreading to healthy outpatients.

I, the undersigned, petition in support of the Right to Shop bill in my state to better inform patients about the treatment centers that are available, and about the costs and measured outcomes associated with each location. This will enable patients to 1) Become better informed consumers of healthcare 2) Reclaim some of their premiums that were based on more expensive “preferred providers” and their facilities 3) Attain outpatient care outside the walls of the inpatient hospitals where hospital-acquired infections are more prevalent 4) Lower the overall cost of outpatient care and of healthcare in general with the expectation that premiums will eventually decline instead of increase. I feel this will also increase the choices in outpatient care, increase the quality of care, restore continuity of care and strengthen the physician to patient relationship.
